Colby Maun, the Director of Player Performance and Development at Pease Baseball Professionals, combines a wealth of experience in sports science, strength training, and athlete development. A former collegiate pitcher at Frederick Community College and Wilson College, Colby’s journey in baseball was shaped by both success and adversity. After a UCL injury led to Tommy John surgery, Colby’s passion for exercise and sports science grew, driving his dedication to helping athletes optimize performance and overcome challenges.
Colby honed his expertise through a prestigious internship at Cressey Sports Performance in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where he worked with athletes ranging from youth to professionals, including MLB players. This experience, along with his degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Wilson College, equipped him with advanced knowledge in biomechanics, strength and conditioning, and recovery techniques.
Prior to joining Pease Baseball, Colby served as a personal trainer at PowerTrain Sports & Fitness and as an online wellness, nutrition, and performance coach for Mike Over. Colby is a certified expert in using cutting-edge tools like Proteus Motion, which enables data-driven performance analysis and personalized training programs. His focus includes enhancing speed, agility, and power, while also prioritizing injury prevention and recovery. Pease Baseball has also invested in Colby’s professional development, enrolled in a 15 month, 750+ training hours of massage training school through PMTI (Potomac Massage Training Institute). By completing this schooling, this will allow Colby and Pease Baseball to offer more tailored recovery services for our players, and specifically our pitchers in regards to arm health.

At Frederick Community College, he was part of a team that led the nation in strikeouts and achieved multiple conference titles. These experiences fueled his passion for mentoring athletes and using sports as a platform to inspire the next generation.

He plans to expand his expertise by becoming a certified manual therapist, further enhancing his ability to support athletes at all levels. At Pease Baseball Professionals, Colby’s mission is clear: to impact players’ lives by building relationships, fostering growth, and empowering athletes to reach their highest potential both on and off the field.
