Scott Thomson, former NCAA Division I coach for 23 years, is our director of college advising. Our goal is to help assist players and families that are interested in learning more about the college recruiting process. While there is no guarantee to the immense hard work a player must put in to achieve baseball after high school, there are over 4,000 colleges ranging from NCAA I to community college, which leaves a variety of options to find a home. Which one is the right fit for you? A consultation is a great way to start the process toward learning just that. It is our job to help guide you in the right direction for your future. I’m sure you will have many questions about the whole recruiting process and it’s our job to answer those questions for you. One of our most initial steps is to fill out Scott’s recruiting questionnaire.
Our College Advising Program is INCLUDED in our PBP membership to our facility. All costs below do not apply to our members. This program is an opt in service, at no additional charge to our uncommitted high school players.
Evaluation $100
Evaluation’s will be administered to players only if this player has had no interaction with our staff prior to interest in utilizing our college advising program. If you have taken lessons with any of our staff, we will coordinate with Scott on your talent level to bring him up to speed on your ability, so he can accurately and honestly provide the best insights during the next stage, which is the consultation. In essence, you bypass the evaluation phase. The evaluation phase is designed for us to give you an honest assessment of where your present and potential talent level could lead you in college. We may also identify in this stage, that it may be in your best interest to continue developing and improving your ability prior to continuing into the consultation phase.
Consultation $175
Scott will sit down with family and player to discuss the college recruiting process, go over key factors in preparing for NCAA competition, and help answer any questions you may have about the process. This is the time where Scott will outline all that his service would entail over the course of weeks / months of service. During this time, Scott will learn more about the family, assess the player’s makeup / get to know the player better, what school’s he may be interested in, what level of college he play he aspires to play, and help you understand what would be necessary in terms of exposure to colleges (what teams, camps, events to attend). The consultation would also provide more insights pertaining to actual services / communication provided during the time at which your son is under Scott’s advising.
